 Pre-reading

Because of the intensive nature of the program participants are provided with mandatory pre reading. Syndicates are called on at random to present on the pre reading materials. Reading materials are provided by ACI prior to the program.

 Assessment & Syndicate Work

There are three components to the assessment:

  • Syndicate Work
  • Peer Review
  • Assignment

Syndicate Work

Syndicate groups will prepare presentations on rolling and major case studies which have been selected specifically for the ACI CCP program. Team work and individual effort will be assessed as well as subject skills.

Presentations will require responses including:

  • A Board paper and presentation
  • Supplementary material to support your presentation
  • Your project plan and compliance risk assessment

Peer Review

Syndicate members will be required to conduct peer reviews on each other. The review will consist of three elements:

  • Interpersonal skills: communication, negotiation, active listening
  • Team and group skills
  • Level of contributions and participation

Assignment

The topic of the assignment is suggested by each participant and must be approved by the facilitator at the course. There will be time during the program to discuss your proposed topic.

Ideally the assignment will address a current or emerging work problem. It is strongly recommended that candidates discuss the topic with their organisation prior to arrival at the course. A work based problem is not essential, however it provides a direct material benefit to your organisation. For example the project could take the form of a compliance program review for your own organisation. If you chose this option, you could conduct a compliance review and analysis of your organisation’s compliance framework, analysing risk drivers, problem and deficiencies and preparing a diagnostic and remediation plan identifying resources, times lines and barriers to success. Other topics could be around the implementation of new legislation, or a culture change program. There is considerable scope.

If there is no suitable work based topic, then participants may choose an alternative area of research into any combination of the CCP capabilities, or create a substantive professional tool such as a guide, template or work book.
